This 2024 $1 commemorative circulation loonie honours L. M. Montgomery (1874–1942), the beloved Canadian author of Anne of Green Gables. Issued to mark the 150th anniversary of her birth, it is the first Canadian coin to feature a writer.The design celebrates Montgomery’s imagination with a colourful Prince Edward Island scene that inspired her stories.
