Jean Paul Riopelle (1923–2002) was one of the most celebrated Canadian artists of the 20th century, known for pushing artistic boundaries and capturing the attention of critics and art lovers around the world. To mark the 100th anniversary of his birth (1923–2023), one of his masterworks, L’Hommage à Rosa Luxemburg, appears on a special $2 commemorative circulation coin that pays tribute to his legacy.
