Canada’s one-cent coin ended in 2012, closing a denomination that had circulated since 1858. Interestingly, two distinct types were produced that year: early issues on magnetic copper-plated steel, and later coins on non-magnetic copper-plated zinc, adding a unique twist to its final chapter.

Composition: Copper-plated zinc

Diameter: 19.05 mm

Weight: 2.25 g

Thickness: 1.45 mm

Edge: Plain

The coin in the pictures is a circulation issue in mint state condition.
