2009 Canada 25-cent, Vancouver 2010 Olympics, Speed Skating, Circulation

From 2007 to 2010, as an official supporter of the Vancouver 2010 Winter Games, the Royal Canadian Mint issued a series of 20 circulation coins featuring designs related to the 2010 Winter Games.


Twelve 25‑cent coins depicted Olympic winter sports, while two showcased Paralympic winter sports.


Three additional 25‑cent coins - each issued in both coloured and non‑coloured versions - featured designs honouring Canadian medal‑winning athletes, created with public participation.


Two special one‑dollar “Lucky Loonie” coins were also issued.
