From 2002 to 2004, except for the 2002‑P Queen’s Golden Jubilee 50‑cent coin issued to commemorate the 50th anniversary of her coronation, no 50‑cent coins were released for circulation. Coins from these years can only be found in collector sets issued by the Royal Canadian Mint.


Beginning in 2005, the Royal Canadian Mint resumed production of the 50-cent coin for circulation.


Composition: 93.25% steel, 4.75% copper, 2% nickel

Edge: Reeded


The coin in the pictures is a circulation issue in mint state condition.
