Starting in 1999, the Royal Canadian Mint began producing both test and circulation coins using the new Multi-Ply plated steel blanks.

The 1999-P 25-cent test coin appears in the 1999 six-coin test set, while the 2000-P version is extremely hard to find.

Composition: 94% steel, 3.8% copper, 2.2% nickel

Diameter: 23.88 mm

Weight: 4.4 g

Thickness: 1.58 mm

Edge: Reeded

The coin in the pictures is a circulation issue in mint state condition.
