To commemorate the 125th anniversary of Canada’s Confederation, twelve new 25-cent designs were created - one released each month - honoring the ten provinces and two territories.


April: Manitoba – Features the Southwest Bastion of Lower Fort Garry along with part of the fort’s surrounding wall. Established by the Hudson’s Bay Company as a new administrative centre to replace the original Fort Garry—severely damaged by the flood of 1826—the fort later became government property and was designated a National Historic Park in 1951.
