1978 Canada 50-cent, Coat of Arms, Square Jewels, Circulation

Two varieties of the 1978 50-cent coin have been identified: the Square Jewels and the Round Jewels. The Round Jewels variety is rarer than the Square Jewels. Both types can be found in coins issued for circulation and in non-circulation sets.
